Paladon Systems completes assembly and testing of the largest control cabinets in their 38 year history
The scope of this order included two control cabinets, each comprising of a Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) and hydraulic control panels, 1 accumulator bank for each control cabinet and 90 spring-return scotch-yoke actuators.
The largest of the two cabinets (see above picture) is approximately 5 metres wide, 2 metres deep and 3 metres high, and is able to individually power and control the position of 61 actuators.
Designed by Paladon Systems’ UK office and assembled in their Italian headquarters, the largest of the cabinets and associated 61 actuators will be installed on the Hokchi field’s central wellhead platform, whilst the smaller of the two cabinets and associated 29 actuators will be installed on the Hokchi field’s smaller and fully automated satellite wellhead platform.
Discovered in 2017, the 40km2 Hokchi oil and gas field is located in the Salina del Istmo basin in the Gulf of Mexico at a water depth of 30m.
