UK Gas Terminal Project Win

Paladon Systems to support Conoco Phillips’ Freon Replacement Project at Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal

To be fitted to 3” to 20” Class 300 and 600 ball valves, Paladon Systems will be supplying 29 pneumatic spring-return scotch-yoke actuators and control systems to provide ESD capability on loss of electrical or pneumatic supplies.

Each actuator will be fitted with dual solenoid valves and a closed loop breathing system to prevent environmental ingress during the actuator's spring stroke. In addition, actuators mounted to larger valves will be fitted with quick exhaust valves to ensure closing speeds of no more than 1 second per inch of valve size.

Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal is located on the Lincolnshire coast near Theddlethorpe St Helen and was originally constructed in 1972 to receive gas from the Viking gas field. Today the terminal receives gas from 21 North Sea gas fields and provides approximately 10% of the UK’s total natural gas requirements.
