Paladon Systems

Central Asia – China Gas Pipeline Project Win

Paladon Systems secures their first large order with their Chinese agent, Beijing Safewell

Paladon Systems has been selected to supply 40 spring-return pneumatic scotch-yoke actuators and control systems for 2” to 8” Class 150 to 900 ball valves. Designed for a -31°C ambient temperature, the corrosive environment dictated the need for epoxy painted actuators and fully 316 stainless steel control systems. The control systems will provide local and remote valve operation and are fitted with closed loop breathing systems to prevent atmosphere ingress into the actuators during operation.

Beijing Safewell Commercial Manager Jenny Hu, “The Central Asia – China Gas Pipeline is one of the most important energy infrastructure projects currently being undertaken in China and is a key step in ensuring China’s energy needs can be met in the years ahead. Paladon Systems’ ability to meet the demanding delivery requirements and their experience with providing systems for low temperature and corrosive environments were two key factors in securing this prestigious project win. We are proud to have won this first major project with Paladon Systems and look forward to working closely with them to ensure the successful completion of this project.”

Paladon Systems Inside Sales Engineer Wojtek Nowakowski, “We have been working with Beijing Safewell on this project since April. Although there have been several control system changes and significant increases to the overall scope of supply since we submitted our first quote in April, Beijing Safewell’s technical experience and close working relationship with ATG enabled us to efficiently manage these changes to ensure that our technical and commercial package was exactly what ATG required.”

Asia Trans Gas (ATG), a joint venture between Uzbekneftegaz and China National Petroleum Company (CNPC), was formed to design, construct and operate the third stage of the Uzbekistan – China pipeline which will transport natural gas from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to Xinxiang in China. The 42” pipeline is designed to initially deliver 25 bcm/a of natural gas and construction started in 2012. The third section of the pipeline is expected to be commissioned in January 2014 and reach a total transmission capacity of 55 bcm/a by December 2015.
