Large Offshore Project Win

Paladon Systems to provide over 140 valve actuators and control systems for ExxonMobil’s Tapis EOR and Rejuvenation project

Located 190km off the coast of Terengganu, Malaysia in 64m of water, the Tapis oilfield produces an extra-light, low sulphur crude and is one of seven mature oilfields owned by ExxonMobil (78%) and Petronas (22%) in that region.

As part of a $1 billion investment by ExxonMobil, the project will involve the deployment of EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery) and additional drilling to increase production from the Tapis platform. ExxonMobil Senior Vice-President Andrew Swiger, “This latest contract includes commitments to implement an enhanced oil recovery project at the Tapis field and will be the first ever large-scale project of its kind in Malaysia.

Paladon Systems will be supplying 145 spring-return pneumatic scotch-yoke actuators and control systems fitted to 2” to 4” 1500 to 2500 BDV, ESD and process ball valves.

Marketing Manager Matthew Shepherd, “In addition to our significant offshore experience, we won this project as our competitors were either unable to meet the extremely short August and October delivery schedules or provide actuators with internal tie-bars. We are proud to have been selected by ExxonMobil to support them with helping Malaysia reach its full energy potential.
