Overview

This training course provides an introduction to PN-Series pneumatic scotch-yoke valve actuators.

Synopsis

During this training course employees will:

  • Understand the difference between double-acting and spring-return actuators
  • Get an overview of power modules, drive modules and spring modules and the main features of each module type
  • See how a scotch-yoke mechanism converts thrust into torque and how it is able to vary its torque output throughout an actuator’s stroke
  • Learn the three different types of actuator yokes and why they are required
  • Find out what information is required as a minimum to ensure optimum actuator selection
  • Understand the purpose of an actuator’s end stops and where they are located
  • See how actuators are typically mounted to valves
  • Review an actuator’s materials of construction
  • Understand how actuator model numbers are constructed
