Paladon Systems technology to support Egyptian power generation
Paladon Systems is delighted to announce that they have just completed their latest order for Turbine Bypass Systems. To be installed in Egyptian power stations, Assuit and Cairo West, the Turbine Bypass Systems for each power station comprise of spring-return hydraulic linear and quarter-turn actuators, hydraulic distribution skids and hydraulic power units. Turbine bypass systems are used to protect steam turbines during start-up and shutdown operations, or in the event of a process anomaly.
Engineering Supervisor (UK facility), Steve Piper, “The design engineering for this project was extremely challenging, mainly due to the requirement for each system to modulate each valve in 10 seconds with extremely high ±0.5% positioning accuracy, coupled with the requirement to also fast-open and fast-close each valve in less than 1 second during critical events.”
Designed by Paladon Systems’ UK engineering team and assembled and tested in Paladon Systems’ new Italian facility, this latest order marks 15 years of Paladon Systems supporting power generation projects across the globe.
