Paladon Systems to provide an ASV for the EPPC Port Said Gas Tankers Berth Project
To be fitted to a 12” Class 300 ball valve, the ASV is a fully self-contained subsea system that senses pipeline pressure and automatically opens subsea Pipeline End Manifold (PLEM) valves when tanker-to-shore or shore-to-tanker pumping operations begin, and automatically closes them when either pumping operations have ceased, or in the event of a line break event. System electrical power will be provided by a subsea battery pack which has been designed to allow for 3 PLEM valve operations per week for 10 years. Unique to the ASV design, the pressure to operate the spring-return hydraulic subsea actuator is taken from the subsea pipeline itself.
Sales Engineer, Chris O’Connor, “The ASV provides operators with a far more reliable solution for PLEM valve operation when compared to the two traditional methods, which either involve using diver operated valves or valves operated by subsea actuators powered by Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs) located on CALM buoys. In addition to allowing for PLEM valve operation in all weather conditions, the ASV drastically reduces an operator’s CAPEX and OPEX costs and provides an unprecedented level of environmental protection.”
